After your “Yes”

Matthew 14:28-30

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me to come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

This is a familiar passage to us all, as we have heard it preached and taught. I happen to love it myself. 🙂 Jesus spoke one word, and Peter was able to walk on the water! And Peter didn’t sink as long as he kept his eyes on Jesus. Hallelujah!

When I woke up late morning (I was able to sleep in Glory to God), in my coffee and scriptures moment with the Lord, the Holy Spirit placed this scripture on my heart, and said that after we say Yes to what God calls us to do, storms come and seemingly upset the plans, and come to shake our outlook and trust. God speaks to us, and affirms us along the way, yet we do have moments of being shaken. He said to notice that Peter experienced fear and what Peter did in his moments of fear: Fear that he couldn’t do it. fear that it wouldn’t happen for him, fear of failure: He cried to the Lord for help!

Choose your approach

We all face moments of fear, although we may not all admit it, and the Lord shows us these examples in the Word of God to help us understand that the people He used were human like us, flawed like us. Ultimately, we must rely on Him. They weren’t super humans who had it all figured out. No, they messed up as we do in thought, word, and action. Life happened to them as it, likewise, does to us.

In fact, many times all you have is a Lord help! Lord save me! Lord show me! Lord how can I do this? Whatever it is, you lead with going to the Lord first. Don’t lean on your own understanding. The enemy wants you to be in your own head trying to figure out the why’s and how’s, yet God says you don’t have to. (You can’t anyway-it will only have your head spinning)

As we go…

Jesus wants us to stay resting in Him, and He will direct our steps. The directing part isn’t up to us. However, we must walk. He doesn’t make us walk- we walk, and He directs, as we go…

When we say, “Yes we will follow God,” that Yes comes with testings of our faith.

You will not escape that, nor do you know how it’s going to show up. My yes has come with marriage issues, children tripping, finances out of whack, deadly disease, major loss of people I love, and more. Yet, I keep looking at God – sometimes, screaming out, “Lord strengthen me, cause if you won’t take me out of it, help me to be strong and endure it.”

As God continues to mold and shape us on the Potter’s wheel, we are becoming what He called us to be – A workman unashamed, full of power in His Spirit! Miracle, signs and wonders following us to the glory of God, producing good fruit, and making disciples.

The making process comes in many ways as a renewal of our mind and a change of our ideas, of what we should be or where we should go. I didn’t think I would be a housewife, and writer. But God had other ideas to get me prepared to walk in purpose. There was some molding that could only be done with me at home – molding in myself, husband and children. I had to let go of the rat race and my plans, relinquish that independent spirit I carried, and learn to depend on God. My story is not yours. Yours is unique to you – but what we have in common, is that God has a purpose and plan for you as well. How will that manifest in your life? I do not know.

To put it another way, don’t focus on what you don’t have or how things are not happening the way you wish. Focus on the fact that we belong to the King and Creator of Heavens and Earth, and although it seems like all hell is breaking loose, and may very well be, WE WIN. Never lose sight of that. This is a spiritual war of good and evil.  See the devil wants you to lose sight of the fact that you are a winner. This story has been written, the end from the beginning. Stay the course, my brother and sister in Christ. The journey has it’s bumps in the road, but God will always keep us. He gives us joy and peace in a world where that does not come naturally. We are safe in His arms. Will we experience hurt and pain? Absolutely, we live with a fallen nature in a fallen world. Read the bible, and you will see that the only difference between them and us is the the period they lived in. There is nothing new under the sun.

There is hope in Jesus, not ourselves.

The Lord has an uncanny way of using every experience. It’s important to realize that nothing is wasted. Romans 8:28 says, And we know that ALL things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

Were you called?

OK, so understand that ALL things, yes even that, will work together for your good. How? I have no clue. That’s not my lane. I do know that in my own life, things that I never thought would be fixed, were. Also, I had to just go forward not knowing the outcome. Pain I never thought would go away, did. Relationships were mended, my body was healed, peace came and rested upon me dealing with the death of loved ones, favor was given in the area of finances, doors were open and shut, among other things, Jesus has taught me to endure.

We learn endurance through our various trials, and hopefully to look to Jesus who is the Author and Finisher of our faith.

There is a constant battle of wills. Yours vs His. Daily this battle happens, and we see the fruits daily of that battle as well.

Be patient with yourself and others. The Word says to let patience have its perfect work, that we may be perfect (mature-of full age) and entire(whole-complete), wanting nothing. (James 1:4)

This battle is NOT yours. It’s the Lords.

Blessings and I leave this with you:

Colossians 1:9-29 English Standard Version (ESV)
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy;12 giving thanks[a] to the Father, who has qualified you[b] to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
The Preeminence of Christ
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by[c] himall things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation[d] under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.
Paul’s Ministry to the Church
24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, tomake the word of God fully known, 26 the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. 27 Tothem God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the  hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.

My dream of Jesus and the candles

Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning.

Luke 12:35
If you follow me, you know that I am a dreamer. Not in the whimsical way of fantasy, but in a spiritual way, where God communicates with me. (Some of you still call that fantasy…) But truly, it is amazing and I love to go to sleep, because my dream life is so vivid. I know many of you can relate, because God is pouring out His Spirit in these days.

I had this particular dream that I am going to share with you on November 29, 2018.

Jesus was in my dream speaking to many ladies. There were so many… more than I could even count. They were all standing in front of Jesus holding a candle with a fire lit. He said to some of the ladies that their fire will go out and to others it will never go out. He was specific – “Yours will go out,” and “Yours will last forever” that type of thing.
He said to one “You seek a title,” and to another “You seek fame and fortune,” to another “You seek me only.”  I was standing beside Him observing all of this, and I asked Him “Why?” He said because of the intent of their heart. Those seeking fame, fortune and title will have the fire but it will go out.
“And those with a heart for my people and ministering in sincerity, the fire will never go out. My Spirit will stay rested upon them. I am looking at the heart. “

This was a sobering dream – a warning dream, and the Lord said to share it with this message, and those with ears to hear will receive. Jesus said that some of our lights will burn forever and some will go out, even though it’s burning right now. Many will be deceived and caught up with the cares of this world, believing they are saved. It will be like the scripture in Matthew that says, many will say Lord we prophesied in your name, and He said that He never knew them. That is found here: Matthew 7:21-23

The Candle represents the light of God/Light of Christ.

We are living in a time where it will become apparent who the true Christians are. Many call themselves servants and followers of Jesus, but a line will be drawn. The rubber will meet the road, and the truth will show. The Lord is not mocked. Whatsoever we sow, we shall reap. (Galatians 6:7-9)

Our motives are important to God. We must test ourselves daily whether we are in the faith or not.( 2 Corinthians 13:5) We have the ability to pretend, and can show one face to the world and another to our brothers and sisters in Christ, but all faces are seen by God. He is saying to us that He is watching, and things in the dark will come to light. You don’t want your candle burning out and losing the light of Christ. That is a scary thought!

Daily we make choices, and those choices affect our life either immediately or down the road. This is a spiritual and natural law- reaping and sowing. You can’t get away from it, therefore, we must make wise choices.

I think, well, actually I know, because I have been guilty of this: When we don’t always see immediate results of our bad decisions, we tend to think all is well, and that we have gotten away with something. When the reaping season comes we don’t always understand why all hell is breaking loose because we don’t contribute it to the thing(s) we may have done in the past (or present.)  Ecclesiastes 8:11-12.

In other words, we cannot do whatever we want, no matter how much that is encouraged in the world. And as a former free spirit who did whatever she wanted, I can attest that God does not approve of that type of mindset and lifestyle.

You will face opposition living a holy and set apart life for God. Expect it. If you read your Word, you will see that true Christ followers always had opposition from the world because they were different. There was; however, a remnant of true followers. Same will be true today. I encourage you to fight the good fight of faith. This is a fight. Didn’t you know? The enemy is after our soul.

It’s important to realize that we are deceived because he shows up as an angel of light, and not with red horns. For example, as a job that keeps you from church and/or your family. He shows up in putting lying thoughts, that are contrary to what God says about you, in your mind- Lies that shake you and make you question if it’s even worth it being a Christian. He shows up as doubt, mistrust of God, and condemnation. He will come wherever he sees an opening, believe me.

Moreover, we must pray daily for God to strengthen us from fear of man, which is a genuine fear. We don’t want to water down God’s Word for fear of how it will be received. Daily we see and hear of reports of people in the world increasing in their hate of anything relating to Jesus. Good is spoken of as evil, and evil as good in today’s society. The bible is getting pushed out, and not looked upon as an authority on how we should live. People are worshipping the universe, and not the one who created it. There is alot going on and it will get worse. If the Lord tarry, this will be a real test of faith for us as a body of believers.

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom as the Bible says. People can kill our body only but God is the one who can raise us from the dead to eternal life. So fear God above man. (Matthew 10:26-28)

In a Nutshell

So what am I saying? This world and its cares are falling away. With that in mind, what manner of person should you be? What’s important to you? Living for the day, or eternally? What about your family? What are you striving after? (2 Peter 3:10)  Where does your heart lie?

Build yourself up daily in your most holy faith, and surround yourself with people who are walking with God, as iron sharpens iron. I say it over and over when I write and speak, that we are one body and we need each other. We aren’t meant to walk this walk alone.

Consequently, we choose good or evil every day. Somehow, we think that we can continue to walk the line, be nasty to others, hold grudges, back bite, sow discord etc, and think God isn’t watching or because as I stated earlier, no repercussions have occurred. God desires us all to be saved and is patient with us, but that will not always be the case. Yes, He is merciful, and full of loving kindness, but never forget He is the lion of Judah and one day we will all stand before Him to give an account.

I am careful with my words now because I will give an account for every word that I speak. I didn’t always think that way, and I still fall short, but by the grace of God, as I keep growing in my knowledge of Him, reading and studying the bible, I am more conscious of how I walk this Christian walk daily. (Matthew 12:36) I encourage you to do the same.

We must live in this world, but we better wear it like a loose garment so that we aren’t caught up in it, because our very lives depend on it. We are in the last hour, and Jesus will return soon. I don’t know a date, and neither do you, but I know we are to watch and pray. In the meantime, lets preach the gospel and make disciples, knowing that Jesus is with us.

Love people, speak about the goodness of our Saviour, enjoy the blessings that God bestows upon you, but check your motives daily. Are you seeking recognition? Title? Fame and/or fortune? Or do you genuinely want to see people saved? He said some specific words in my dream. Seek HIM ONLY. That is our mandate. Seek God and His righteousness. Keep the main things the main thing. He will take care of everything else according to His will.

Let’s keep pressing, leaning on the Lord daily for ALL of our needs. Will we be people who trust God for their salvation, but not their daily needs? He knows what we need, and will take care of us, even give us the desires of our hearts, but there is a condition. (Matthew 6:33:   ; Psalm 37:4)

Trust and lean on Him every day, understanding that He promised to direct our path. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
God loves us! So much that He sent His son, Jesus to die for us sinners. He who knew no sin became sin for us, so that we could live! To save us!

Now what manner of love is that?!
